The Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphin (Tursiops aduncus) is one of the most common and charismatic marine mammals found in Algoa Bay, South Africa. This coastal species occurs year-round along the Eastern Cape coastline, where it inhabits shallow inshore waters. Highly social and intelligent, these dolphins are often seen travelling, feeding, and surfing in groups that can range from a few individuals to several hundred animals.
