Jeffrey’s Bay, Shell Museum

The talk was hosted by the Jeffreys Bay Shell Museum.  The Museum was opened in 1998 to house the collection of a local Me Charlotte Kritzinger, and over time has been enhanced, through donations and exchanges and now houses over 600 shells from around the world making it one of the largest collections in South Africa.  A recent addition is a display of Jeffreys Bay micro shells, which is believed to be unique in the region.  Fluke caused a stir outside the museum with people commenting on his size.  The question and answer session was almost as fun as the talk and Jeffreys Bay contacted the WCA about becoming a whale heritage site during the talk.
