Kenton-on-Sea

We were hosted by the Kenton-on-Sea Round Table and the boys organised a wonderful curry for a wild and windy day.  The talk followed the springboks beating Australia and this meant that the audience were very engaged and active.  The wild blustery seas outside contrasted with the roaring fire and comradery inside.  Here one of the audience members Grandfather and father served on the Abraham Lawson when she was still owned by the Germans, after the war she was awarded to the Union whaling company as a war prize.  This was a fascinating link to the talk.  Several audience members also remembered visiting the Bluff whaling stations and spoke of their memories to other audience members.
