Bay Action Network Alliance

Bay Action Network Alliance is a non-profit organisation whose primary objective is to re-establish the bond between people, ecological processes and prosperity.

We work towards this goal through Education and Development and as well as actions that improve and enhance the Conservation of the Environment and Animal Welfare.

The geographic bays of the Sub-Saharan African continent are primary nodal interfaces between societies, economies, and the environment. The bays of the African coastline are havens for human settlements, trade, and key biodiversity processes which sustain the planet.

Our beautiful bays are under threat and the Bay Action Network Alliance works towards re-establishing a balance between man and the environment.

Our activities include but are not limited to:

To educate the community on the marine environment and the need for its protection and conservation.
To educate the community about the need to prevent marine pollution and the impact pollution has on our wellbeing.
To promote conservation action to establish a balance between people, planet and prosperity.
To undertake targeted actions, supporting the ecological integrity of bays.
To undertake research to support actions aimed at establishing bays as networks of sustainability.
To liaise with partner organizations to establish a Bay Action Network to support the critical biodiversity processes which link the Bays of Sub-Saharan Africa.
To assist organisations responsible for scientific marine research and initiate projects that will be of assistance to such organisations.
To promote public awareness and participation in the Bay Action Network Alliance.
To stimulate the creation of similar projects in other coastal regions throughout South Africa and the rest of Sub-Saharan Africa.
