Coffee Bay, Ocean View Hotel

This was a special talk for me as the Fort Hare Honours students were participating in their honours camp and were part of the audience for the talk.  It was amazing to think that tomorrows future scientists were present at this talk and wonder what they would take away from their honours camp and year, which is a formative year in one’s science career.

We were lucky enough to be present for the weekend seafood buffet which was served at the end of the talk.  The power of nature was very prevalent on this tip as several parts of the road were turned into one-way sections due to the roads being washed away in the recent floods.  The view from the hotel included an upside down tractor in the waves which had been washed away in the floods.  The community were doing beach cleanups to remove some of the pollution on the beaches from flood damage.  The whales, seal and the SAS Medi were there too checking up on our progress.
